HAIR COMES

HAIR COMES

THE SUN

Hairiette isn’t just for children, it’s for the
adults who are raising them.

IMAGINATION POWERS POSSIBILITY

THE SUN

Hairiette of Harlem is a children’s

book series about a seven-year-old

girl whose imagination becomes a

place—her very own Magic Nation.

Hair Comes the Sun expands that world into an immersive storytelling experience, inviting parents, caregivers, families, and educators to reconnect with their inner child and create their own Magic Nation —using imagination as a powerful tool for adult reflection and real problem-solving.

Hair Comes the Sun invites adults to imagine the fullest possibility for themselves — because when we do, we quietly become a living example for the children who are always watching.

JOURNEY WITH ME

image

I’m Tanya, creator of Hairiette of Harlem and Hair Comes the Sun.
This experience was made for adults — inspired by how deeply children connected with Hairiette.

The story unfolds in four chapters:
Harlem. Hollywood. Harvard. Hairiette.

The final chapters belong to you — where your
Magic Nation begins. What becomes possible when you connect with your inner child?

Chapter 1

HARLEM

I was born in The Bronx but I was made in Harlem. I grew up in a place thick with art and food. Music and history. Culture! It is still all these things and more for me.

Hollywood is a strange and magical place--a metaphorical imagination factory. I navigated its glitter, its illusions and it's unexpected lessons along the way. This is my story...

image

A storied school and the only place who has ever said "yes, and..." to my wild ideas for the world. I took a train from Hollywood to Cambridge, MA and never left. Then, I met Shaun. We went to the same high school.

Hairiette is the culmination of all I know to be good and true in the world. One day, I asked myself: what would happen if I let my inner child lead? Hairiette reminds me all we need to know in this life, we learned when we were seven.

I created Hair Comes the Sun to share my journey—and to inspire you to explore your own: this is an invitation to imagine the Magic Nation within you.

Consider these questions below:

1. Could "lack and limitation" be an illusion?

2. When something feels limited could you change direction? Abundance is always present.

3. Did thoughts of lack come from someone else? Who?

4. Could past experiences of lack be shaping your present?

5. Might ‘lack’ feel safe simply because it’s familiar?

6. What does it look like to feel limitless?

Throw your answers away.

7. Describe your ideal world in one sentence and one action to make it real.
